The institute is located in the so-called Digitalvilla in Potsdam-Babelsberg, just a few steps away from the university campus Griebnitzsee. More than 50 scientists work here on just under 1000 square meters of this historic building. A new building, which will also house the Industry 4.0 Research and Application Center, is currently being constructed on the site of the Digital Villa.

Labs on ERP systems, design thinking, teaching-learning systems, additive manufacturing, the Industrial Internet of Things, and project rooms for student workgroups make the Digital Villa the first port of call for digital transformation in the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
