The WI-Braukeller – Home of Griebnitzsee Beer.

A learning environment where theoretical knowledge and practical experience come together.
As part of the “Beer and Science” research and teaching project, the cellar serves as a learning environment in which scientific methods can be explored in a hands-on setting and reflected upon in interdisciplinary teams. Its unique atmosphere provides a space for focused work, collaborative research and collegial exchange. Our guiding principle: innovative, craft-based teaching meets traditional brewing techniques.
A Space for Research, Teaching and Community
The WI-Braukeller supports the aim of the “Beer and Science” project to not only teach scientific methods, but to make them tangible through practical experience. By combining theory and practice, it creates an experiential learning environment that encourages students to conduct independent research and strengthens interdisciplinary exchange.
In the future, the WI-Braukeller is also intended to serve as a venue for workshops, teaching formats and discussion sessions – a place where research, practice and community come together in a unique way.
For SMEs, Multipliers and Large Enterprises
The WI-Braukeller is available to SMEs, industry partners and large enterprises for seminars, workshops and team events. Whether the focus is on company-specific or subject-specific content or on current topics in digitalization, the WI-Braukeller’s innovative teaching approach makes it possible to combine a wide range of learning content with the beer-brewing process.
By directly linking topics such as the fundamentals of business process management or the process knowledge required for the successful selection of enterprise software with brewing their own beer, participants are able to approach knowledge from new perspectives and thereby enhance their learning outcomes.
Our Cooperation Opportunities
1. Training by Our Team on Digital Transformation
You use the WI-Braukeller together with our team, who provide your employees with insights into current topics in digital transformation. The program can be flexibly designed to last between one and five days. Upon request, we can also incorporate our teaching and learning labs, the WI Thinking Lab (Makerspace) and the Industrial Transformation Lab (Hybrid Learning Factory). Catering for participants is included – with plenty of coffee, too.
Topics include the impact of digitalization on work, the fundamentals of business process management, the modeling of business processes, the selection of enterprise software, the fundamentals of knowledge management, and artificial intelligence in production. We are happy to tailor the focus areas to your individual requirements.
2. Didactic Design of Your Own Content
We adapt your subject-specific or company-specific content using the WI-Braukeller’s teaching approach, which has been successfully published in several academic contexts, and deliver it to your learners. This includes discussion formats designed to encourage active participation as well as an evaluation of learning outcomes based on your requirements.
3. Use with Your Own Training Staff
You bring your own instructors and design the training content yourself. During the brewing process, our WI brewmaster will guide and support you, allowing you to focus entirely on your learning content.
4. Team Events in the WI-Braukeller
Brew your own beer for your next company event, design your own bottle label, or make your own mead. Upon request, we are also happy to take care of the catering.
