{"id":740,"date":"2026-05-27T08:40:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T08:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.widg.de\/?page_id=740"},"modified":"2026-05-27T08:43:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T08:43:40","slug":"erp-system-auswahlplattformen-im-vergleichranking-nach-aesthetik-usability-und-inhalt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.widg.de\/en\/erp-system-auswahlplattformen-im-vergleichranking-nach-aesthetik-usability-und-inhalt\/","title":{"rendered":"ERP System Selection Platforms Compared: Ranking by Aesthetics, Usability and Content"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project Overview<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The project&nbsp;<strong>\u201cThe Race for the Best ERP System Selection Platform\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;aimed to systematically analyze German-language ERP system selection platforms and compare them based on defined quality criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main areas of focus were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>evaluation of the platforms based on aesthetics, usability and content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>development of a structured evaluation framework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>analysis of ten existing selection platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>creation of a comparative ranking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial Situation<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>ERP systems are essential for growing companies to efficiently integrate and manage their business processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular face the challenge of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>identifying the most suitable ERP system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>avoiding high consulting costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>keeping track of the large number of available providers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>making informed decisions based on transparent information<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>ERP system selection platforms promise to provide support in this process. However, their quality and objectivity had previously received little systematic investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approach &amp; Methodology<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The project was carried out as part of a Business Informatics project at the University of Potsdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A three-part evaluation framework was developed to assess the platforms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Aesthetics (20%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 visual design and first impression, including the VisAWI model<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Usability (30%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 technical performance, information structure and navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Content (50%)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 suitability of the recommended ERP systems<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten ERP selection platforms were examined using:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ten realistic company scenarios<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>standardized evaluation forms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>statistical analysis of the results<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>comparison of filtering functionalities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Findings<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The analysis showed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>significant differences in quality between the platforms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cContent\u201d as the most heavily weighted, yet often weakest, criterion among many providers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in some cases, insufficient transparency regarding ranking mechanisms<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inconsistent filtering functionalities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>platforms that failed to provide any results despite users entering relevant data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some providers stood out due to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>comparison options between ERP systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>budget and platform filters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>clear structures and good usability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Target Concept &amp; Results<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The result of the project is a structured ranking of the platforms examined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the strengths and weaknesses of individual providers were identified<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>practical recommendations for companies were developed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>implications for operators of ERP selection platforms were derived<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The analysis shows that selection platforms can generally provide valuable support, but only when their transparency and filtering mechanisms are critically assessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Added Value &amp; Knowledge Transfer<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The project demonstrates the application of business informatics methods to a practically relevant digitalization challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It combines:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>web usability analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>development of an evaluation framework<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>scenario-based analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>statistical evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>practice-oriented recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The results support companies in using ERP selection platforms more critically and making well-informed system selection decisions.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Projekt\u00fcberblick Das Projekt&nbsp;\u201eDas Rennen um die beste ERP-System-Auswahlplattform\u201c&nbsp;hatte das Ziel, deutschsprachige ERP-System-Auswahlplattformen systematisch zu analysieren und anhand definierter Qualit\u00e4tsmerkmale miteinander zu vergleichen.
